MBTP 002: Thank You for Not Making It Easy

In this story from my early days of teaching Tai Chi in the 1980s, I tell about a woman who, despite all the odds of a poor memory and even less body-coordination skills, refused to accept any offer to make things easier. It took her twice as long as the rest of her class to learn the Tai Chi form, but she never gave up. In the end she taught me that I can be most helpful as a teacher if I support students to hold the container open and not try to fill it for them.
